About Us
"At DAMC we strive to offer the best quality composite training available by utilising partnerships with key engineering companies to make sure that all of the courses we offer are modern, current and relevant."
Dan Lockett
DAMC Course Leader
The Dennison Advanced Material Centre was opened in September 2018 by Ken Skates AM, and was named after Jon Dennison. Jon Dennison had a distinguished career in aerospace and engineering, working for the government and industry. Throughout his career in the Department of Trade and Industry, the Society of British Aerospace Companies (now ADS), GKN Westland Helicopters/Finmeccanica (now Leonardo), and GKN – where he became Director of Government and External Affairs – he was influential in providing opportunities for young people to realise their potential. He was a man of principles: committed to diversity, generosity to others, fairness, and a level playing field for all.

Our Facilities
DAMC has been designed with quality in mind. We only use the most modern and up to date technology in composite manufacturing. We have a temperature controlled clean room fitted with vacuum ports, inspection lamps, ultrasonic leak detectors and more.
Our curing and cutting room is equipped with a 3m² curing oven with internal vacuum and thermocouple ports which can be made available for rental. We have the latest Resin Infusion technology with multiple training moulds. All workstations are Vodex downdraft benches and are equipped with airlines and a variety of air tools.
To maintain our cleanroom's environment and prevent any contaminants reaching outside of the labs, we have an airlock where trainees can change into the appropriate PPE and store their belongings, simulating an industry environment.
